How to choose your preferred account verification deadline on Google Play Console?

All users must complete the account verification process in accordance with the updated policy of Google's Play Console Requirements. A specific timeframe has been designated for this verification process, and a notification has been dispatched for you to select a suitable time. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Failure to select a deadline by February 29, 2024, will result in an automatic deadline assignment by the system. If the account verification process is not finalized within the chosen deadline, Google will remove the account from Google Play.

During the account verification, you will be required to provide:

  • Your legal name and address.

  • A D-U-N-S number (for organizations only).

  • A contact phone number for Google Play users to reach you (for organizations only).

  • An email address for Google Play users to contact you.

  • Both a contact phone number and email address for Google to reach you.

  • Official documents to verify your identity.

  • Official documents to verify your organization (for organizations only).

Here are the steps users need to follow to set the deadline:

Here are the steps users need to follow to set the deadline:

  1. When you open your Google Play Console account, a popup for the Account Verification deadline will appear immediately. The first step here is to click on the "Get Started" button.

  2. It is advisable to choose the latest date provided for the verification process. The necessary documents for verifying your account will be outlined both visually and in the popup window that appears on the screen.

    INFO: Verification processes commence 60 days before the selected date. For instance, if you select November 8, 2024, as the deadline, the verification process will begin on September 9, 2024. Account verification cannot be initiated before September 9, 2024. Verification can only be completed between September 9, 2024, and November 8, 2024. You must finish before the verification deadline on November 8, 2024.

  3. After selecting the date, proceed by clicking on the "Next" button.

  4. To conduct your operations within the chosen date range, it is vital to determine your account type. You must select an account type to specify whether your developer account is for personal use or for an organization or business. The chosen account type may affect the verifications that need to be completed. For more information on which account type is suitable for you, you can refer to this link.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: The account type must be selected as "Organization Account." You are not a personal developer. Opting for a personal account entails additional obligations and will prevent your application from being published.

  5. The selection of usage type is based on your developer account. Here, you need to provide the necessary information according to the usage type of your account. After completing the required information, click on the "Next" button.

    INFO: If your company already has an Apple developer account, it likely possesses a D-U-N-S number. Otherwise, you can easily obtain one by following this guide.

  6. In the final step, review the last delivery date you selected, and then confirm this date.

  7. Once the process is completed, the required information based on the account usage type for the selected date range needs to be conveyed to Google.
